FDA News

More people than ever search online for health information these days. In acknowledgment, the FDA has partnered with the popular health site WebMD.com in an effort to broaden consumers' access to FDA news. Since an estimated 50 million people visit WebMD.com each month, it's an ideal way for the FDA to reach consumers (who wouldn't necessarily visit the separate FDA.gov site for additional information).

On www.webmd.com/fda, a new online consumer resource, visitors to WebMD.com can learn about FDA-approved products (food, medicine, cosmetics), how to report safety problems with these products, and link to the FDA consumer Web page for timely consumer update articles (www.fda.gov/consumer). These update articles will be regular features in WebMD.com's bi-monthly magazine, which is distributed to physician offices nationally and reaches nearly nine million people.
