More and more airlines are charging for such essentials as checked luggage (sometimes the first bag), seats, and for making the reservation to begin with. Top that off with security screening delays, grumpy personnel at the gates, and delayed or canceled flights, and it's no wonder these tips were invented -- "flying day" just isn't that fun anymore.
After viewing these guidelines, I programmed my airline's phone number into my phone (in case of emergency rescheduling). But I'm not expecting the worst-case scenario because it's always best to have a positive outlook. In fact, after passing through the "expert" security screening lane, I'm looking forward to a hazard-free airplane flight. Here's wishing you a peaceful trip with no tussles in the midst of the general holiday bustle.
